Option 1:
Inspired by the idea of a neighborhood crest, this concept uses a shield divided into four panels to represent Hillcrest’s defining qualities: its tree canopy, local wildlife, topography, and sense of community. The hawk ties land and sky together, symbolizing both perspective and place.
Option 2: This concept draws from Hillcrest’s agricultural past and present-day green spaces. Three trees rise above curved irrigation lines, grounding the design in the area’s ties to the canal and homesteading. A quail at the base connects to the wildlife noted by neighbors, while hand-lettered typography keeps the mark warm and approachable.
Option 3: This concept emphasizes Hillcrest’s mid-century roots with a strong architectural frame. The arched form reflects the style of the neighborhood’s era of growth, while the lone tree anchors the mark as a symbol of stability and place. The clean geometry and lettering give the design a structured, refined feel — a nod to Hillcrest’s history with a modern edge.
